In the year 2001 CPSL with the support of DFID-NRSP project aimed at forming 10 Self Help Groups in Bihar and 10 in Uttar-Pradesh with the organisation’s principles and its dialectic approach. By the end the project more than 500 Self Help Groups had come into existence. CPSL continued to revise and improvise the approach for scaling out, and replicated the approach in partnership with other Civil Society Organisations, in more than 500 villages of eight districts of the two states of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, with partnership of DFID supported Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) Programme, Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project, BASIX, ICICI, RGVN and NABARD with a mission to promote livelihoods by promoting the vision of the poor rather than imposing its own agenda on the poor.
